River Cruising
Having never been on a River Cruise before I was not sure what to expect but I can only say this is still one of my favourite trips to date and most memorable. The ship itself was breath-taking and we had a fabulous cabin with a balcony. The food was some of the best I have ever eaten, service and attention to detail amazing. Our trip started in Passau where we joined the ship. Our first stop was Linz a beautiful Baroque town set on the confluence of the Danube. We also visited Salzburg where we enjoyed a complete Sound of Music Experience and authentic Austrian Lunch. Next stop Vienna, again another beautiful city where we shopped with the chef and in the evening attended the Palais Liechtenstein for a private Viennese concert. All the experiences were excellent, however, the one that probably stands out in my memory is our journey to the beautiful town of Melk. We enjoyed a guided bike ride along the river from Durnstein to Melk and through the vineyards on the electric bikes which are onboard the ship and can be used at any time.I cannot recommend highly enough unforgettable!
Mauritius
A jewel in the Indian Ocean, one my favourite places and our most popular destination. Beachcomber invited 50 agents to experience their fabulous resorts to celebrate The Big 50 (50 years of trading) and I was lucky enough to be one of them. We got to experience visits and stays in all but one of the resorts and I loved every minute. From Dinarobin to the Shandrani on the East Coast, all were amazing and another destination I will never forget. Having experienced all the resorts first-hand and seeing what they have to offer is a great help when advising clients on which resort is best for their needs. A favourite for couples is the new swim up rooms at Victoria in the Adult Only Section. Mauritius has so much to offer from its great landscape, beautiful beaches, great cuisine and not forgetting the amazing Indian Ocean. I am hoping to be able to visit Mauritius again very soon.
Doha and The Maldives
I was lucky enough to fly to Doha with Qatar Airlines in Business Class which was a fabulous experience and one I can highly recommend. We spent two nights in Doha which is a great place to visit or as a stopover. It was then on to the newly opened Saii Lagoon and Hard Rock at The Crossroads in the Maldives. The Crossroads is a totally new concept for the Maldives and is made up of 3 hotels but also has a number of restaurants and shops. Saii Lagoon has a really relaxed and chilled vibe and my beachfront room had a breathtaking view of the ocean. After 3 nights we were transported by buggies to the Hard Rock where the check in was slipping down a waterslide!! At the Hard Rock I was lucky enough to stay in one of their brand new over water villas which were out of this world. The Maldives are everything you expect and then more and I hope to be lucky enough to return in the future.

The Venice Simplon Orient Express
My journey on the Orient Express was truly memorable. We started with a couple of days site seeing around the amazing views of Venice and then boarded this iconic train. The décor, ambience, service and cuisine are second to none! We dressed to impress in our finery and enjoyed amazing scenery as we wined and dined, mingling with fellow passengers in the champagne bar, entertained by a live pianist before retiring to our beautiful cabin which had been transformed into a luxury bedroom. Definitely a ‘Bucket List’ experience!
Mount Kilimanjaro Trek
This is a once in a lifetime experience! A team of friends trekked to the summit of Mount Kili for charities close to our hearts. At 5,896m, the world’s tallest freestanding mountain can certainly seem imposing but that doesn’t mean it’s out of reach. There’s a range of routes to suit every trekkers experience and fitness levels. While the climb is difficult at times, it’s only when you’re at the summit, having witnessed the sunrise above the clouds and the sprawling landscape far below that you realise the simple truth – it was all worth it! After the descent some of our group then had a few days of well-earned chilling whilst others carried on for safari adventures!
West Coast America Road Trip
Starting with a quick city break taking in the sites of Chicago we then caught a short flight to San Francisco. We cycled across the Golden Gate Bridge, tasted amazing Californian wine and of course visited the famous Alcatraz before heading down to Monterey for whale watching, Pismo Beach for dune quad biking, and took in the famous sites of Hollywood, Los Angeles and Santa Monica. On route to Las Vegas we stopped at the famous Peggy Sue’s Diner before enjoying a memorable few days chilling and taking in the sites of this amazing neon city. A must is the Grand Canyon helicopter tour – truly amazing, and of course the many sites and sounds of the crazy casino floors – people watching is so entertaining!
